You may not know she was born in Torquay and lived much of her life in the area. Torquay Museum houses the Agatha Christie. Gallery and her Devon holiday home with its beautiful gardens overlooking the River Dart at Greenway, is open to the public for much of the year.
Getting out and about is easy and your spare time can be filled with interesting visits and outings. Most popular are Bath, Stonehenge, The Eden Project and day trips to Cornwall.

Torquay comes alive by night and there are clubs to suit all tastes. Live music is easy to find as is a disco or pub with a DJ. If you plan to make a whole evening out with your friends or family then you can eat out at one of the harbourside cafes or go to a chic restaurant and follow that with a film or show at one of the seaside theatres.
If you want something a bit different during the summer months, you can have a scary evening with food and a cave tour at Kents Cavern. It is not for the faint hearted though so be prepared for a lot of shocks and screams!!
